Lake Eyre blossoms

Reporter: Mike Munro
Producer: Mick O'Donnell
Date aired: 17/7/2011

Mike Munro joins Australian Wildlife Conservancy chief executive Atticus Fleming and his team of conservationists in the picturesque heart of Australia on their mission to prolong the livelihood of native wildlife and flora.

Munro offers spectacular vision of the country’s biggest privately-owned protected land - the 7,000 square kilometre huge - Kalamurina Wildlife Sanctuary, which sits along the northern edge of Lake Eyre and is almost full for the first time in 40 years.

He shows you why the Australian Wildlife Conservancy and some of Australia’s wealthy philanthropists are devoted to saving the rich and complex habitat before the window of opportunity closes.
